Get flooring bids in Portland & beyond

Flooring bids come down to square footage and what is under the floor you have now. Older houses here hide everything from original fir to three layers of vinyl. Post the rooms, the footage and what you want on top, and license-verified installers bid the whole job, surprises included.

Flooring questions, answered

What flooring do installers bid most?

Luxury vinyl plank has become the default ask for busy households and basements because it handles moisture; hardwood and engineered wood still rule main floors of older homes; carpet holds bedrooms. Post what you want, or ask bidders to propose.

What about subfloor surprises?

The honest answer is that nobody knows until the old floor comes up. Good bids state what they include and what triggers a change order. Mentioning known soft spots or history (past leaks, pet damage) in your post gets you more realistic numbers.

How many bids will I get?

Up to five, and you can raise that on your project page. Each bidder has had their contractor license verified against the state registry before they could bid.

Is flooring worth bidding out versus a big-box install?

Bidding shows you the spread. Independent installers often beat retail install programs on the same material, and you pick the company yourself rather than taking whoever the store dispatches.
