No. Posting is free, getting bids is free, picking a contractor is free. We never charge homeowners.

No. Nobody gets your name, phone number, or email until you pick a bid. Contractors bid on your project details and photos, not on your contact info. Only contractors you pick get your info, and you can pick more than one if you want to compare finalists in person. Anyone you don't pick never gets it.

Up to five to start. Contractors who are license-verified and work in your area see the full project and bid only if they want the job, and bidding stops at your limit so your inbox never floods. If you want more than five, raise the limit on your project page.

Local companies whose license we verify against the Oregon CCB, Oregon LCB (landscape construction) or Washington L&I registry before they can bid. Every bid shows a price, what is included, and when they can start. Names stay hidden until you pick one, so nobody can go around HouseRules to reach you.

As of August 2026, more than 30 contracting companies across Oregon and Washington, every one license-verified against the Oregon CCB, Oregon LCB or Washington L&I registry before their first bid, and the number grows weekly. Trades range from roofing and remodels to concrete and excavation.

Then you pick nobody, and your contact info was never shared. No follow-up calls, because nobody has your number. You can let the project expire quietly, or repost it with a sharper scope and budget. You can also decline bids you are not interested in, which frees those spots for new bids without starting over.

Roofing, kitchen and bathroom remodels, decks, patios and hardscape, flooring, fencing, windows and doors, exterior painting, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, additions, and tree removal. Any size project is welcome, from a small repair to a full remodel. We started in the Portland metro and cover all of Oregon and Washington. If bidders are thin in your area, we personally recruit them for your project.

No. This is not an auction. You pick whoever you want for any reason: price, timeline, the way their pitch reads, or not at all.

You pay only when a homeowner picks your bid. Placing a bid holds a small number of credits that scales with the size of YOUR bid (a range counts its midpoint): 10 credits for a bid under $5k, 20 up to $15k, 40 up to $35k, 70 up to $75k, 100 above that (1 credit = 1 dollar). If the homeowner declines you, ignores you, withdraws the project, or finishes picking without you, the credits come back automatically. Homeowners can pick more than one bid to compare finalists; every picked bid pays its fee, every unpicked bid is refunded. Founding Pros pay half of every number above, forever. You buy credits in your dashboard, and they never expire.

No. Three guarantees, on the record: we never charge for a homeowner's contact info (you get it by being picked, it is not a product); we never charge for being ignored or declined; and you always see the full project scope, photos included, before a single credit is held. Any pricing that would break one of these does not ship.

Sign up with your CCB or LCB (Oregon) or L&I (Washington) license number. We verify it against the state registry, usually within a day, and then you can bid on projects in your trades and service area.
